Ntrop Recordings presents Joalz selection for Rodon fm

Athens based experimentalists JOALZ have recently released their second studio album titled 'Monkshood,' recorded from '07 to '10 in Berlin, Athens and New York.

The album begins with 'Early' with the Anthony and the Johnsons' cellist Julia Kent. 'Sweeping Range,' the first single from the album, manages to reach an interesting breakthrough in indietronica and noise which results in a remarkable approach to Krautrock's rebirth, and it features vocals by the Canadian performer Sunday Luv.
'Case Study,' 'Out Of My System' and 'Blind Date' were initially recorded as a musical support to George Drivas’ cinematic trilogy 'Social Software' which have been featured in international film festivals, and later re-recorded for this album. 'Bella Fu' sets a distinction in the expansive feeling of the album by focusing on a guitar rhythm ¾ and the abstract participation of a Simmons drum machine.

Here you can listen to their broad vinyl selection they picked for an indie Greek radio station Rodon FM, featuring 'Sweeping Range' and 'Bella Fu'.

Next JOALZ live show will take place on 10.06.2010 at K44, Athens.

With scattered noises and rampant techno beats, Noise in the Ether is back, again scouring the globe and the decades for music that is fresh, little-known, exciting and powerful. Joseph brings his favourite tracks of 2011, from terrifying noise to elegant string drones via throbbing avant-electro and delicate piano ambience. Meanwhile, Chris brings more exploratory jazz and experimental wonders, before whisking us away to the psychedelic wilds of Japan, the mutated folk/calypso beaches of the Bahamas and the windswept deserts of Ethiopia. Tune in and float away into the weird and wonderful world of Noise in the Ether.

This time on Kamikaze...

Brand new Raster Noton bits from Senking and Byetone, a new Merzbow album, the long-awaited Dalglish record, and the return of Gescom...

Those bits aside, tune in for some growlin' blues from Kip Tyler and Howlin' Wolf, classic turntablism from Kid Koala, a crackin' new Ekoplekz remix of Chairman Kato, early electronic sounds from Bernard Parmegiani and Jonathan Harvey, foot soldier futurism from Welimir Chlebnikov, head-crunching electronics from Stephan Mathieu, a new GonjaSufi EP, techno beastliness from Function, a little Big Youth, and a lesson in acupuncture.

In other news, Andy Stott gets a rewind, and I claim back a Camille Yardborough favourite.

Hope all is well in your world, enjoy the tunes x
